Privacy Policy for Neurodivergent Guide
Last updated: 7 September 2026
The short version
Neurodivergent Guide does not collect any personal data about you.
There is no account to create. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. The app does not send anything over the internet. What you read in the app, and how long you spend reading it, is nobody's business but yours.
This matters more than usual here. People read about neurodivergence long before they tell anyone they are doing so, and sometimes they never tell anyone. This app is built so that reading it leaves no trace with us, because there is no us to leave a trace with.
Who we are
Neurodivergent Guide is published by Laijo Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17424886, registered office Suite RA01, 195-197 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU, United Kingdom.
If you have a question about privacy, or about this policy, email support@laijo.com.
What we collect about you
Nothing.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, contacts, location, device identifiers, advertising identifiers or usage statistics. We do not record which conditions you read about, which guides you open, or how long you spend on them. We do not ask you to sign in, and there is no way to sign in. We do not operate a server that the app talks to.
The app contains no analytics software, no advertising software, no crash reporting, no social media software development kits and no third party trackers.
The app does not assess, screen, diagnose or score you. It contains no questionnaires and no tests. It is educational reading material about neurodivergence, and nothing in it produces a result about you. Nothing about your health is recorded, because nothing about your health is ever asked.
What the app saves on your phone
The app stores a few small settings on your device so that it works properly between uses. These stay on your phone. They are not transmitted anywhere, and we have no access to them.
| What is saved | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Whether you have unlocked the practical guides | So you keep what you paid for | Secure device storage |
| That you have seen and accepted the welcome screen | So you are not asked again every time you open the app | Ordinary device storage |
| Light or dark appearance | To keep the app looking the way you set it | Ordinary device storage |
| Whether the dyslexia friendly font is switched on | To keep your reading settings | Ordinary device storage |
| Your chosen language | To open the app in the language you picked | Ordinary device storage |
That is the complete list. Because this information never leaves your device and we can never see it, we are not processing your personal data when the app saves it, and we cannot retrieve, restore or produce it on request.
How this information is used
The settings above are used for one purpose only: to make the app work the way you left it. They are not used for anything else.
In particular, we do not use them to build a profile of you, to make decisions about you, to recommend content to you, to advertise to you, or to train any artificial intelligence or machine learning system. There is no automated decision making or profiling of any kind in this app, as those terms are used in data protection law.
Nothing in the app adapts itself based on which conditions you read about. Every user sees the same guides in the same order, because the app does not watch what you read.
The app also contains no cookies or similar tracking technologies.
How long information is kept
We keep nothing, because we receive nothing.
The settings saved on your phone stay there until you remove them. You control that entirely: they last until you use the erase all data option, or until you delete the app. There is no time limit and no automatic expiry.
Deleting everything
You can erase all of the above at any time. Open Settings, then the erase all data option. This clears every item in the table above, along with any leftover data from older versions of the app, and returns it to how it was when first installed.
Deleting the app from your phone also removes this information.
Erasing your data does not cancel your purchase. Purchases are held by Apple or Google against your store account, not by us, so you can restore a purchase after erasing.
Paying for the unlock
The app offers a single one time purchase that unlocks the practical guides. There is no subscription.
The payment itself is handled entirely by Apple's App Store or by Google Play, depending on where you downloaded the app. We never see and never receive your card details, your billing address or your payment information. That transaction is between you and Apple or Google, and is covered by their own privacy policies, not by this one.
Apple and Google provide us with aggregated sales and payout reports, for example how many copies sold in a country in a month. These do not identify individual purchasers to us.
Links and phone numbers in the app
The app lists sources, organisations and helplines so you can look them up. These are shown as plain text and the app does not open them for you automatically.
This is deliberate. It means the app never makes a network request on your behalf, and no website or organisation ever learns that you found them through this app. If you choose to type one into your browser or dial a number yourself, that is your decision and is then between you and them.
Who we share your information with
Nobody. We have no personal data to share, sell, rent or transfer, and we would not do so if we did. We do not sell data to anyone, under any circumstances.
Sending data abroad
None. Because the app makes no network requests and we hold no personal data about you, there are no international transfers of your data by us.
Backups
On Android, this app is configured to opt out of automatic system backups, so its data is not included in them.
On iPhone, if you back up your whole device to iCloud or to a computer, that backup may include app data as part of backing up the phone. This is a feature of your device and is controlled by you and by Apple. It is not something the app sends or that we can access. You can review this in your device backup settings.
Age
This app is intended for users aged 13 or over.
It is not directed at younger children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age, because we do not collect data at all.
Health information
Information about a person's health, including whether they are neurodivergent, is treated as a special category of personal data under UK data protection law and deserves particular care.
We never receive any such information about you. The app does not ask about your health, does not record anything about your health, and does not form or store any view about whether you are neurodivergent. It is reading material, and it is not a medical device, a diagnostic tool or a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
Keeping your information safe
The unlock flag is kept in your device's secure storage, which is the protected area operating systems provide for this purpose. Your reading and appearance settings are kept in ordinary app storage on your device.
The most meaningful security property of this app is that there is no database of users anywhere for anyone to breach, because we never collect anything in the first place.
Our legal basis for processing
Data protection law requires organisations to have a lawful basis for processing personal data, and a further condition before processing health information.
We do not process personal data about you at all, and we never receive any health information about you, so no lawful basis or additional condition is needed for us to run the app. The only personal data involved anywhere in the process is the data Apple or Google needs to take a payment from you, and in that transaction they are acting as the data controller, under their own privacy policies and their own lawful basis. We are not a party to it.
We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as we do not carry out the kinds of processing that require one.
Your rights
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have rights over personal data that an organisation holds about you. These include the right to access it, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, object to its use, and ask for it to be moved.
We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to give you, correct or delete. The information the app saves is on your own phone and entirely under your control, and you can delete it yourself at any time from Settings.
If you believe we have handled your personal data improperly, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app works in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a future version of the app ever collected personal data, which we have no plans to do, we would tell you inside the app and ask for your consent first.
