Privacy Policy for I Should Not Have Said That

Last updated: 7 September 2026

The short version

I Should Not Have Said That does not collect any personal data about you.

There is no account to create. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. The app does not send anything over the internet. Nothing you do in the app is visible to us, because nothing you do in the app ever reaches us.

The rest of this policy explains that in full, including the few small settings the app saves on your own phone and the one thing that does involve someone else: paying for the unlock.

Who we are

I Should Not Have Said That ("the app") is published by Laijo Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17424886, registered office Suite RA01, 195-197 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU, United Kingdom.

If you have a question about privacy, or about this policy, email support@laijo.com.

What we collect about you

Nothing.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, contacts, photos, location, device identifiers, advertising identifiers or usage statistics. We do not ask you to sign in, and there is no way to sign in. We do not operate a server that the app talks to.

Specifically, the app contains no analytics software, no advertising software, no crash reporting, no social media software development kits and no third party trackers.

What the app saves on your phone

The app stores four small pieces of information on your device, so that it works properly between uses. This information stays on your phone. It is not transmitted anywhere, and we have no access to it.

What is saved Why Where
Whether you have unlocked the full app So you keep what you paid for Secure device storage
That you confirmed you are 18 or over and accepted the policies So you are not asked again every time you open the app Secure device storage
Which questions you marked as asked, and the date you marked them To show your history inside the app Ordinary device storage
Whether you chose light, dark or system appearance To keep the app looking the way you set it Ordinary device storage

The app never records your answers to any question. There is nowhere in the app to type an answer, and no answer is ever saved, because the questions are meant to be asked out loud.

Because this information never leaves your device and we can never see it, we are not processing your personal data when the app saves it, and we cannot retrieve, restore or produce it on request.

How this information is used

The four items above are used for one purpose only: to make the app work the way you left it. They are not used for anything else.

In particular, we do not use them to build a profile of you, to make decisions about you, to recommend things to you, to advertise to you, or to train any artificial intelligence or machine learning system. There is no automated decision making or profiling of any kind in this app, as those terms are used in data protection law.

The app also contains no cookies or similar tracking technologies.

How long information is kept

We keep nothing, because we receive nothing.

The information saved on your phone stays there until you remove it. You control that entirely: it lasts until you use Erase all data, or until you delete the app. There is no time limit and no automatic expiry, because leaving your history in place is the point of having a history.

Deleting everything

You can erase all of the above at any time. Open Settings, then Erase all data. This clears every item in the table above, and returns the app to how it was when first installed.

Deleting the app from your phone also removes this information.

Erasing your data does not cancel your purchase. Purchases are held by Apple or Google against your store account, not by us, so you can restore a purchase after erasing (see below).

Paying for the unlock

The app offers a single one time purchase that unlocks the full app. There is no subscription.

The payment itself is handled entirely by Apple's App Store or by Google Play, depending on where you downloaded the app. We never see and never receive your card details, your billing address or your payment information. That transaction is between you and Apple or Google, and is covered by their own privacy policies, not by this one.

Apple and Google provide us with sales and payout reports. These are aggregated figures, for example how many copies sold in a country in a month. They do not identify individual purchasers to us.

If you use Restore purchase in the app, the app asks Apple or Google whether your store account already owns the unlock. We do not see your account details in the process.

Sharing a question

The app has a share button that lets you send a question to someone, for example by message. When you tap it, your phone's own sharing feature opens and you choose where to send it.

We are not part of that. We do not see what you share, or who you share it with. Once the question is handed to the app you choose, whatever happens next is governed by that app's privacy policy.

Sharing only ever happens when you tap the button. The app never shares anything on its own.

Who we share your information with

Nobody. We have no personal data to share, sell, rent or transfer, and we would not do so if we did. We do not sell data to anyone, under any circumstances.

Sending data abroad

None. Because the app makes no network requests and we hold no personal data about you, there are no international transfers of your data by us.

Backups

On Android, this app is configured to opt out of automatic system backups, so its data is not included in them.

On iPhone, if you back up your whole device to iCloud or to a computer, that backup may include app data as part of backing up the phone. This is a feature of your device and is controlled by you and by Apple. It is not something the app sends or that we can access. You can review this in your device backup settings.

Age

I Should Not Have Said That is for adults aged 18 or over. Some content deals frankly with relationships, past partners and intimacy.

When you first open the app you are asked to confirm your age and accept this policy and the Terms of Use. The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age, because we do not collect data at all.

Keeping your information safe

The unlock and consent flags are kept in your device's secure storage, which is the protected area operating systems provide for this purpose. Your history and appearance settings are kept in ordinary app storage on your device.

The most meaningful security property of this app is that there is no database of users anywhere for anyone to breach, because we never collect anything in the first place.

Our legal basis for processing

Data protection law requires organisations to have a lawful basis for processing personal data.

We do not process personal data about you at all, so no lawful basis is needed for us to run the app. The only personal data involved anywhere in the process is the data Apple or Google needs to take a payment from you, and in that transaction they are acting as the data controller, under their own privacy policies and their own lawful basis. We are not a party to it.

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as we do not carry out the kinds of processing that require one.

Your rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have rights over personal data that an organisation holds about you. These include the right to access it, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, object to its use, and ask for it to be moved.

We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to give you, correct or delete. The information the app saves is on your own phone and entirely under your control, and you can delete it yourself at any time using Erase all data.

If you believe we have handled your personal data improperly, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app works in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a future version of the app ever collected personal data, which we have no plans to do, we would tell you inside the app and ask for your consent first.
